Earlier we announced the release of the Drupal Piwik module, you can see the announcement at "Drupal Piwik module announcement".
This is just a brief introduction to the module, please note the Piwik is beta and this module could therefore be considered alpha
Basically the module provides two functions,
- its allows you to track visitors to your site in the same way as you do with Google Analytics Module
- It gives you access to the Piwik reports from within Drupal
In the future it may do other things but we have to see what a production release of Piwik looks like before we commit.
Basically you start by installing the module and enabling it as usual
Once enabled you go to the Piwik analytics settings under Site configuration
- Add the link to the Piwik instance you have installed
- Add your Piwik site ID
- Add the authentication String
- Select the roles you want to track
That's it your site is up and running being tracked by Piwik
Screenshots below show the various screens the module adds, click on the images to get a full size image

What the reports look like

piwik.org open source web analytic's
I utilized the web analytic's from the piwik.org open source for a while now and enjoyed it's user friendly features plus I've found it to be a great alternative to the commercial sites (like Google analytic's)monitoring capabilities. I've still got a few sites tied up there but haven't visited them for a while.
